A special gift from BritishCare to you, this is a thank you for being a part of our wonderful community.
Baby is just weeks away and that means it’s time to pack your hospital bags. Compromising of three sections, you, your baby and your birth partner.
As is so often the case with parenting, it seems everybody has an opinion about the hospital bag, or a story that they think is fascinating about that one thing they forgot. All that information can get to be a bit overwhelming. Your hospital bags are supposed to help ease your anxiety, not make it worse! That’s why our Senior Midwife Julie, with over 18 years’ experience has collected what she recommends you pack for delivering your baby in the UAE.
Remember babies aren’t aware of your schedule or their due date, so be sure to pack four to six weeks before.
Julie has thoughtfully added the essentials as well as some top tips from her experience.
If you arrive at the hospital and realise you forgot to pack an item in your hospital bag, it’s not the end of the world. You might be able to get somebody to run back to the house for you — but if you can’t, that’s OK, too.
Feel calm and in control knowing you will have packed everything you need to welcome your beautiful baby into this world.
If you have other children or pets, have a plan for who will be looking after them.
You can always double check with your chosen hospital what they will provide for you and about visitors' times. If you haven’t chosen your hospital yet, make sure to contact BritishCare to find the best Hospital to suit your needs.
